AMS Band

AMS Band   

5th Grade Band: This is the beginning band made up of all the 5th graders at AMS. They meet twice a week in like sections where they receive individual instruction from their method book, and once a week all together to work on band music. They perform at the Winter and Spring Concerts as well as for the district 4th graders.

 

Junior Cougar Band: This is select group of 5th grade beginning students who have shown higher level of motivation, interest and performance. They follow the same daily performance schedule as the 5th grade band, plus they meet one more time together working on more advanced music. 

 

Blue and Gold Band: This is our sixth grade band. Most of the students are in their second level method book, and play a wide variety of band music styles. Along with the Winter and Spring Concerts they perform at CMEA Band festival and march in the Cottonwood Parade.

Cougar Band: This is our 7th and 8th grade performance band. they rehearse daily. They perform in assemblies, high school half-time shows, the Lighted Christmas Parade, CMEA Band Festival, the Rodeo Parade, the Winter and Spring Concerts, Graduation and annual Spring band trip. 

 
 

Jazz Band: This is a selected group of students from the Cougar band who have shown an interest in Jazz music and improvisation. They rehearse first period every day. Along with the Winter Spring Concerts, they perform locally, and compete in the Folsom, Santa Cruz and Reno Jazz Festivals.
